Matanzas Creek
Matanzas Creek was born when Sandra and Bill MacIver began planting vineyards in the Bennett Valley in Sonoma County in 1975. They produced their first wines in 1978 and a new winery was completed in 1984.
They specialise in Merlots and Chardonnays with their best wines being marketed under the `Journey` label. Production is limited, so supply is strictly rationed, making the wines some of the most expensive in California today.
In early 2000, the MacIvers sold Matanzas Creek to Jess Jackson and family.
