Charles Cimicky

Czech born Karl Cimicky established a winery at Lyndoch in the Barossa Valley in 1972. It was initially named Karlsburg Wines and the first wines were produced in 1973. Winemaking is now under the control of Karl`s son Charles.

Charles Cimicky passionately believes that quality originates in the vineyard which he runs on organic lines as much as is practically possible. He is best known for his premium reds, and in particular his Shiraz and Merlot. These are rich, lavishly oaked, full-bodied wines that ooze dark berry fruits, spice, and vanilla oak characters.

He also produces an intense Sauvignon Blanc as well as a superb Grenache based rosé.
