Château Haut-Colombier
This delightful château in the Côtes de Blaye has been owned since 1803 by the Chéty family. Jean and Danielle Chéty have been at the healm for the last 37 years and are now ably assisted by their sons and daughter; Emmanuel, Olivier and Véronique.
Emmanuel is the winemaker and is in charge of the vineyards that are planted with 75% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Malbec, the vines are around 30 years old.
After fermentation the wine is left to macerate on the skins for 20 to 30 days before being transferred into wooden barrels to finish its ageing. Delicious when young, the wine is also capable of ageing for up to decade from the vintage.
