Ch. Peybonhomme-les-Tours
A landmark of the Côtes de Blaye, Château Peybonnhomme Les Tours can be
seen from many miles away because of its position above Blaye and its
distinctive towers. The towers, one round and crenellated and one detached and
square with embrasures, date from Hugenot times.
The Château today is run by Jean-Luc Hubert, his wife, Catherine, and their team of skilled oenologists and viticulturists. The vineyards are planted with a typical Blaye mix of 75% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5 % Malbec. The wines are matured in oak barriques for 8-12 months, one third of which are new.
The resulting wines are light to medium bodied, with red berry fruit characteristics and a spicy finish from the oak.
