Domaine Sainte Rose

Domaine Sainte Rose is a 55 hectare estate in the Languedoc that has recently been acquired by Charles and Ruth Simpson, a young British couple who left their respective high flying careers to pursue a mutual dream to establish a boutique vineyard and winery of their own.

They took over the domaine in June 2002 and in order to process the grapes themselves they had to significantly renovate and redesign and redesign the winery, which had not produced wine for about 10 years. Over a quarter of a million Euros has now been invested in order to create a controlled wine production facility with state-of-the-art equipment that is capable of creating top quality wine.

The Simpsons have a very specific quality-orientated strategy with the intention of continuing the tradition of viticulture and wine production on the Domaine, while at the same time introducing a more organic approach to viticulture and utilising modern wine making techniques where appropriate.

Chardonnay, Rousanne, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah are grown and a wide variety of wines are produced. La Garrrique, a blend of Syrah (40%), Grenache (40%) and Carignan, is the their top cuveé and is one of the Languedoc's shrewdest buys.
