Château de Cazenove

This 7 hectare property, sandwiched between Château Siran and Château Dauzac in Margaux, was formerly known as Domaine de la Maqueline. Willemijn de Cazenove van Essen bought it in the late 1980s and she and her children renovated the property by replanting extensively in the vineyards and by installing a new cuverie. She produced her first vintage in 1991 and the quality has improved year on year ever since.

The wines are predominantly Merlot based and are matured in oak barrels for 12 months. They are fruit-driven, well-structured clarets that offer terrific value for money.
