Beefeater

Beefeater gin was created in 1820 by James Burrough. The original Beefeater distillery was set up on the banks of the Thames in Chelsea, London. After a move to Lambeth in the early part of the 20th century, the distillery moved to its present location in Kennington in 1958. It is the only premium London Dry Gin to still be distilled in London.

A big, bold gin, Beefeater was given the name by James Burrough to indicate its style and its true London links. Unlike a lot of other London Dry Gins, Beefeater is never less than 40% alcohol as they believe that reducing the alcoholic strength adversley affects the taste.

Wheat and barley are the grains used for the base spirit, to give a clean taste. The botanicals used to flavour the gin include; juniper berries from Italy, coriander seeds from Romania, Russia and Bulgaria, orange and lemon zest from Spain and angelica root from Flanders. These elements blend perfectly together in the distillation process to produce this perfectly balanced, rounded gin.
