Château Closerie-Mazeyres

This property is a great source of good value Pomerol. It is owned by Clément Fayat who also owns the St Emilion Grand Cru Classé, Château La Dominique.

As is typical in this part of Pomerol, the property is planted with almost equal amounts of Merlot and Cabernet Franc.

The wine is fermented in 70 hectolitre wooden vats, before ageing for 18 to 22 months in new oak barrels. The wines are supple and refined and drink well young, but can age for a decade or more.
