Fatt. Coroncino

Il Coroncino is now recognised as one of the best producers of Verdicchio in Italy today. It is owned and managed by the Canestrari family, which was originally from Rome. It is now run by Lucio Canestrari, assisted by his wife, Fiorella, and his father in the winery and in the vineyards. Production is severely restricted and consists mostly of Verdicchio, either in the standard version or the Gaiospino cru. The family owns two vineyards, one at Spescia di Cupramontana, in the heart of the Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico zone, the other at Coroncino, where the winery is located.

The grapes are hand-harvested (some are deliberately picked over-ripe) and then fermented and are vinified carefully selected, gathered when they are overripened, delicately pressed and fermented in temperature-controlled vats. No oak whatsoever is used and Il Coroncino consistently produces broad, complex wines with structure, elegance and enviable softness.
