Gérard and Philippe Valette produce a totally different style of Macon. Their vineyard sites in and around Chaintré are warmer and they opt for maximum maturity.
Because they prune more tightly than their neighbours they achieve high sugar levels, ending up with a super ripe style, that makes their wines perfect to drink immediately.
