The wines of the Saar are characterised by their steeliness, refined richness and pure crisp acidity.
Bert Simon has 24 hectares of vineyards on the steep slopes of Serrig where the high altitude of the vineyards accentuates the steely acidity of the wines. His best wines come from his Herrenburg and Würtzberg sites and he particularly excels at Spätlesen and Auslesen wines. He also produces a very good dry Weissburgunder.
