2001 Ch. Batailley, 5ème Cru Classé, Pauillac

"A 5th Classified Growth from Pauillac, for years considered a good value, reliable claret but in recent years elevated to new heights of finesse under the watchful stewardship of its owners, the Castéjà family. A bouquet of cassis, tobacco leaf and cedarwood gives way to a mature, soft fruit flavour on the palate. 2001 was a fine, elegant vintage with very precise definition, and all its component parts in excellent harmony."
