A fabulous seductive and complex wine. With an intensely rich nose of nutty
apricots and a supremely balanced palate that is still extraordinarily
youthful.
Unlike many Vin Santi that are made up of a large percentage of innocuous Trebbiano, this Vin Santo from the Montepulciano region of Tuscany is the real mccoy: using 60% of the small-berried, intensely sweet & perfumed Malvasia, along with 30% Trebbiano (for its acidity) & 10% Pulcinculo (don't ask!), the fruit is dried on racks, then pressed & fermented before being aged for 5-7 years in tiny chestnut hogsheads. Drink with biscotti and stone fruits served on a bed of ice.
