1981 Krug Collection
|
|
The Krug Collection is not a late-disgorged concept, rather one of late
release….Wines, disgorged at the normal time, which is in any event
after a fairly leisurely sojourn in bottle, are allowed to mature in the Krug
cellars in Reims. When they are released, it is because Olivier or Rémi
feel that they are ready to enjoy and tosavour. One can not fault them in this
instance. A rich hedonistic delight, the famous exotic fruit and oak influence
calmed by the passage of time, this magnum is a banquet…..savoury and
rich, the hints of mushroom and truffle adding an appropriate and venerable
garnish.
