An unusually high percentage of Merlot in the blend makes this a softer, more approachable Latour. It is nonetheless a powerful, intense wine that will need another 3 years before it is ready, but it will be worth the wait. You can already detect a fabulous purity of fruit and textbook cigar box and cassis; high tannins without astringency and a remarkable llength. If you can resist , it will keep until 2030.
