Ch. Giscours typically produces one of the most masculine wines of the Margaux
appellation and one which normally requires a little patience. Defined by its
rich, dark fruit, complex structure and wonderful, classic perfume, this
elegant 2001 is nonetheless drinking beautifully now, yet will also be worthy
of laying down for another five years should you wish to keep hold of it. This
sophisticated wine would be a wonderful addition to any festive celebration,
this year or next.

"The deep plum/purple-colored 2001 exhibits notes of melted licorice, barbecue
spices, violets, black currants, and a hint of blackberries. Medium-bodied and
fleshy, with a cunning style that sneaks up on the palate, building in
increments, this pure, rich, concentrated yet elegant, charming effort provides
further evidence of this chateau’s strong rebound." (Robert
Parker - Wine Advocate - Jun-2004)
