Berrys' St James's Finest Reserve Port, Quinta de la Rosa
Port comes in many guises which can broadly be divided into two categories; barrel or bottle aged. As the names imply, bottle aged ports often continue their maturation once in bottle whereas barrel aged ports are generally ready to drink at the point of bottling. Ruby ports, such as this, are made from a blend of several different vintages and are aged for anywhere between 2 and 5 years in large tanks before bottling. Unlike vintage port, ruby port is ready to drink once bottled.

Berrys' St James's Finest Reserve Port displays a deep, dark ruby hue . The nose of lush red and black fruits suggest the full, rewarding richness to come. The palate is sweetly opulent and concentrated with vivid blackberry and black cherry fruit and silky tannins. The finish is long and fine.

With a depth of flavour, richness and concentration normally only seen in far grander Ports, this exceptional Ruby Port is delicious with mature cheese and fruit cakes. There’s no need to decant this port; it lasts reasonably well after opening for 3-4 days.
