Its made by Jean Michel Cazes of Chateau Lynch-Bages and to try any of his
other wines would cost you plenty more than £11.95. But most of the time
why would you when you can enjoy the supple plum and blackcurrant flavours of
first-class ready-to drink-Bordeaxux in a wine like this. It tastes at least
£20 more expensive than it is. Glorious.

The idea of Berrys’ Extra Ordinary Claret was first mooted way back in
1986, but much like a fine Claret, we felt it was better to wait until the
concept was perfectly mature – and launched it a mere 19 years later, in
2005. Personally selected for us by Bordeaux legend Jean-Michel Cazes, of Ch.
Lynch Bages-fame, this is an elegant, modern Claret packed with sleek cassis
and plum fruit matched with the classic earthy, minerally hints of the Graves.
As with our GOC, we feel the success of this wine lies in its combination of
quality, value and reliability at an affordable price.
