Sandwiched between two of the most famous names in Bordeaux, Ch. Lafleur and
Ch. Pétrus (hence the name), this is one of the most elegant wines in Pomerol.
Continuing the rich vein of form at this estate, the 2005 has a deep, dark,
glowing colour which sets the tone for the bundle of rich, silky
Merlot-dominated fruit on the palate. The wine's voluptuous character and ripe
tannins ensure excellent ageing potential. Owner Christian Moueix draws a
parallel with the epic 1989 and 1982, and we can see why. Drink
2012-2020.
