Monte Bernardi has produced a very good line-up of wines in 2004, and the
out-and-out champion is their Tzingana Rosso, a distinction that is also
reflected in the price. It is a Cabernet-Merlot-Petit Verdot blend, aged for 12
months in French bariques (30% new). In addition to its splendid colour, it
displays a refined, etheral nose , with pure aromas of redberries and
sweet spices, underlined by mint and tobacco overtones. On the palate, the
richness is convincing, attractively fruity and balanced by soft, ripe tannins.
