Sangiovese is a high yielding, late ripening black grape widely grown in Central Italy. It is the main component of Chianti, and ‘Rubiolo’ is blessed with the beautiful rose and raspberry perfume typical of the variety. It boasts tasty red berry fruits and an immaculate tannin structure.

Ever since the il fiasco/flask era of the ‘60s, Chianti’s had to work hard to regain lost ground. The Denominazione ‘Classico’ has helped focus the mind on the most serious zone but more attention needs to be paid to the racy, high-toned gems sourced from elevated, stony vineyards surrounding the villages of Panzano, Greve and as here, Castellina. Chianti Classico, 'Rubiolo' is blessed with a beautifully rose and raspberry scented perfume, while the palate is very fine, with delicious summer red berry fruit and an immaculate tannic structure.
