2006 Kinheimer Rosenberg Reisling Auslese Füder 16,Weingut Merkelbach

Attractive notes of lime and kerosene ( admittedly doesn't sound very
attractive) then a palate dominated by pear skin, peach-kernels and
elderflower, the sweetness lending a spicy and tropical note and an almost
lychee profile. Kinheimer's steep slopes are made up of blue Devonian slate in
the vein of Erden, giving the wines an extra dimension of richness which is not
evidenced in Urzig, where the slate is red.
