2006 Stoney Rise Chardonnay, Tasmania (Stelvin)

As you might expect from this cooler Australian outpost, where irrigation is definitely not required, the nose is beautifully fresh with comice pear and an almost Chablis-esque stoniness; the palate’s juicy, leesy, moreishly elegant with delicate stony citrus flavours. A terrific wine which balances pure fruit & minerality perfectly, confidently sealed with a screwcap. Excellent with smoked haddock. (David Berry Green-BBR Buyer)
