Imagine baked apples, fresh from the oven, a slice of lemon and roasted
hazelnuts; This is the compelling nose of this superlative wine; blessed with
strident class, courtesy of the noble Savagnin variety, the palate's quite
full, rich in apple/lemon fruit, while the Chardonnay gives a welcome citrus
fresh breadth and softness on the finish. Drink now as an alternative aperitif
or with roast pork (with apple sauce!)
An hour’s drive east of Burgundy, among Jurassic hills, lies Jura, a
little-known region famous among connoisseurs for its statuesque whites born of
the ancient, indigenous Savagnin grape, rich in extract and structure, aged in
French oak for between four and six years. Truly original and delicious!
