The 2005 Tempranillo Verdad bottling is a blend of organically farmed
Tempranillo (70%), augmented with 15% Syrah (from the Bien Nacido Hillside)
that gives the wine some grip and a richer texture palate, as well as 10%
Grenache (from the Purisima Mountain vineyard) to impart an extra aromatic
lift. The nose is redolent of rose petals, smoke, black cherry and red berry
fruit, leading to a concentrated, smooth palate of sweet spices, blackcurrants
and bitter chocolate overtones.
