2006 Dom Domenico Syrah, San Juan, Argentina

New to our list, Don Domenico are justly celebrated for their Syrah. With a characteristically deep Syrah hue and wonderful notes of violet and blackberry on the nose, one could almost be in the Northern Rhône with this wine! On the palate there is more emphasis on pure fruit, with the blackberries accompanied by cassis, loganberry and forest floor. The tannins are sweet and seductive, the finish long and pure. To accompany virtually any roasts, beef or duck perhaps.
