This ‘super-Tuscan’ blend of biodynamically-grown grapes shows the purest expression of sumptuous, seductively ripe flavours reminiscent of black cherries, menthol, liquorice, figs and jammy plum, all of which are then followed by great earthy and smokey overtones. Delicious to drink now and over the next 4 to 5 years, I enjoy this cracking wine with a Porcini mushroom risotto.

For lunar, read loony. For certified, certifiable. That's no doubt how many sane people regard biodynamics. Yet when the techniques are succesfully employed to create delicious wines such as Tuscany's intense mulberry-fruity 2004 Cairossa, its enough to give the agnostic in us all pause for thought.

Very pretty and complex, with blackberry, licorice and tar aromas and flavors. Full and chewy. Long finish. Cool wine from the owners of Giscours. Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Sangiovese, with Petit Verdot, Alicante, Syrah and Mourvèdre.
