From a fine vintage, Andre Ostertag's Heissenberg vineyard in the village of
Nothalten (Bas-Rhin) literally means 'hot mountain' on account of its hot
250-280 metre south-facing granite, sandstone, tufa soils tucked up behind the
village church. The result is a rich yet incisive wine; broad yet also charged
with nuanced limy, mineral notes; all the while fantastically energetic.
Starting to drink now till 2020. Great with a rich fish dish.
