2003 Bollinger
|
|
This is an oak fermented wine, yes, but not the usual angular, quite taut
Bollinger at this stage of its development. Instead a soft and creamy wine,
with a luxurious and sumptuous texture, a fine and beautifully elegant mousse
and hints of brioche and hazelnut to complement the fruit.
It's ripe, expressive and faithful to the vintage. Grand Cru fruit, 65% Pinot Noir and 35% Chardonnay, has been sourced from famous vineyards in the villages of Aÿ, Verzenay and Cuis. A different style of vintage Bollinger, certainly, but one which will be hard to resist in youth and which should be enjoyed over the next year or so.
