2004 Hermitage, Farconnet, J.L. Chave Sélection

Sourced from mature vines on the Hermitage hill, including the illustrious Meal, Bessards and Dionnières plots, this is a superb Hermitage, its fruit still precocious, but with an intensity and focus to provide a foil to a powerful structure which will continue to develop. 2004 is seen, in vintage terms as, un vin de plaisir, and pleasure is certainly provided, with elegant red and black fruits, a gentle earthy backdrop and very supple tannins. Try with pheasant or wood pigeon.
