2005 Quinta do Vesuvio
(code: 67588B)
Although not a Declared Vintage, 2005 is a very promising Vesuvio, with
characteristic haunting aromas of violets, undergrowth and black chocolate and
a rich densely textured palate, a silky bed of roses with savoury notes of
truffle, charcuterie and morello cherry all evidenced. Authoritative tannins
and a rich resonant finish complete the picture, a picture of most pleasing
design that will hold its head high when, eventually, Berry's get round to
presenting a complete vertical tasting of the phenomenon that is Quinta
Do Vesuvio. That will be some tasting!
