2006 Nolan Cabernet Sauvignon, Wrattonbully, S.Australia (Stelvin)

A voluptuous Aussie cabernet, from a top limestone soil-rich area near Coonawarra, with lots of fat, ripe, spicy, velvety, briary fruit that delivers elegance and attitude.

An excellent hand-reared, family made Australian Cab. Sauvignon; nothing added or taken away. The country's reputation for making top Cabernet has suffered at the hands of the corporate brands over the past 30 years, so it's great to see a single-estate example shows what's possible. Deep purple in colour, the nose brims with bright creamy black fruit, fresh ripe cassis & a hint of eucalypt & spice; suave black plum & cassis flavours swell the palate, supported by the most elegant & detailed of structures.
