Mortlach was the first distillery to be constructed in the Whisky town of
Dufftown. This is arguably the heartland of Malt Whisky production in Speyside
and an old adage states, "Rome was built on seven hills but Dufftown was built
on seven stills". This is a complex Whisky, dominated by its Sherry wood
character. The nose brims with Sherry, treacle, toffee and smoke with orange
marmalade creeping through. The palate is assertive and juicy, finishing with
rich barley sugar and smoke.
