Benchmark Crozes from a top year should combine aromatics, ripe fruit and firm
structure. This one has all three in abundance!
Vivid purple colouring, then a nose of black cherry, tapenade, tar and mint. The palate has all the concentration and authority of this great vintage; ripeness in abundance, firm but already integrated tannins, supporting acidity and a great freshness on the finish. Stylistically the wine has been made for relatively early drinking and everything is beautifully balanced already; an ideal accompaniment for roasts or pasta-based dishes.
