2005 Les Cornuds, Vinsobres, Perrin

Vinsobres is, according to Marc Perrin, the natural homestead of the Syrah variety, its temperament well suited to the steep slopes and windy corridor of its valley...reminiscent perhaps of the Northern Rhône. Les Cornuds is accordingly beautifully perfumed, with notes of jasmine and lavender behind a savoury mid-palate flourish. The ripe and expressive fruit tannins are impressive, the ensemble very generous of spirit and extremely accomplished in its construction.
