"Despite literally meaning 'cupboard' Frasqueira has come, by wondrous
linguistic prestidigitation, to mean 'vintage', that is to say the product of a
single year that has had at least 20 years in cask and then at least two years
in bottle before release. One cask from the legendary Caniço Vineyard has
yielded a mere 672 bottles, aged peacefully in natural heat under the eves of
the lodge, slowly gaining concentration due to evaporation. Expressive,
expansive, hazelnut, caramel, malty acidity and a wonderfully fresh finish. 90
grams of sugar. Post rather than pre-prandial, I would suggest." (Simon
Field MW, BBR Buyer)
