Just to the North of the Côte Rôtie appellation, near to the
village of Vérenay, here are René’s Syrah vines which fall
just outside of the appellation, and with this eventuality the price falls too
but not the quality. Hallmark elegance and feminine charm here, with plenty of
approachable red-berried fruit, a spicy backdrop and gentle but persuasive
tannins on the finish.
