2006 Puligny-Montrachet, Les Folatières, 1er Cru, Domaine Alain Chavy

You could say that Puligny runs through Alain Chavy’s veins; his family has been in the village for nearly 200 years and he owns a number of its Premier Cru vineyards. Few producers are as successful as Alain at making stylish, characterful wines which are truly representative of the appellation.
2006 was an excellent white wine vintage in Burgundy, particularly so for Alain’s Les Folatières, which is consistently one of his best Premiers Crus. This gorgeous wine is a model of finesse and elegance with delicious, fresh citrus fruit merging beautifully with subtle oak and the ever-present minerality of the terroir; a benchmark Puligny-Montrachet.
