Purity and power are the keys in this Coteaux du Languedoc red; the Syrah lends
the former, with vibrant red berried fruit and a strand of minerality, which
juxtaposes notes of garrigue and aniseed. The Grenache lends the
warmth, and rounded palate profile; it is the tension between the linear and
the more rounded notes which provide the fascination here; for full and
eloquent expression the wine needs contact with the air. After the concentrated
and powerful 2005, the 2006 plays more on the elegance and linearity; the
distinctive violet perfume and dark fruit intensity still evidenced
however.

The Mas Conscience 2006 Coteaux du Languedoc l’As features black
raspberry and smoked meats seasoned with soy and black tea. Juicy and refined
on the palate, and with lift and energy to complement its sheer richness, it
finishes strongly, and suggestive of 5-7 years of further potential.
