Arnould de Bertier farms over 200 hectares in the Côtes de Thongue, his
vineyards located between Béziers and Agde. His speciality is the
expressive single varietal (or, in this case dual varietal) wine, in this
instance made from two Bordelais grapes, the very well-known Cabernet Sauvignon
and the less well-known Petit Verdot. As both are known for thick skins and
yield concentrated juice, it should come as no surprise that this example has
plenty of weight and no shortage of depth. What may be more surprising is the
juicy nature of the fruit, the length on the palate and the fine, unobtrusive
tannins. Terrific value!
