Made and matured in large old oak, the Javernières is the superior
Desvignes cuvée, its Gamay vines located on some of the steepest old
schist slopes of the Côte Du Puy in Beaujolais. The wine has all the
weight associated with this, the most powerful of the Crus Beaujolais, and yet
loses none of the ethereal red fruit elegance for which top quality Gamay is so
well-known.

Louis Claude has handed over the day-to-day running of the property to his
charming daughter Claude Emmanuelle. Claude Emmanuelle has been fairly
pre-occupied by the arrival of her first child, but this has not distracted the
two, or should that be the three of them, from making an effortlessly elegant
Morgon.
