As with other great vineyards, Grand Cru Brand was in fact riper in 2006 than
2005, able to shrug off the Sept rains thanks to the permeability of its
friable granite soils, and ultimately to develop serious noble rot. The 56 year
old vines contributed a scintillating purity to this fully botrytised wine,
charged with barley-sugar intensity and stunning persistence. Off -dry at 70
grams/litre. Drinking now with foie grase but will age till 2026 at least.
