2007 Mas Conscience, L'In, Vin de Pays de l'Hérault

"The evocatively named Terrasses De Larzac, situated just to the NW of Montpellier, is the location of the equally evocatively named Mas Conscience, the husband and wife team of Laurent and Geneviève Vidal. The alluvial terraces are well suited to white varieties, especially the Vermentino, the highly aromatic Roussanne and, for a good luck, a soupçon of Viognier. A nose of white flowers, grapefruit and honey may evoke the breakfast table, but the wine itself is serious post meridian fare, with a perfect balance between minerality and ripe fruit. Serious, long, and very polished example."
