The nail-biting is over: Stella's debut Brunello di Montalcino has finally
arrived! It's certainly been worth the wait. She's captured the essence of the
vintage, a great one across all of central & northern Italy, while drawing
on the panoramic and biodynamic beauty of her Castelnuovo dell'Abate vineyard.
A full yet fine roast coffee, briary fruit freshness of this 100% Sangiovese
Grosso/Brunello wine delights the nose; compact yet generous at the same time.
One's struck by the wine's suaveness, the melting tannins, the gorgeous
generosity of this clove, coffee bean and brambly Brunello; the biodynamics
clearly weaving its magic in keeping whole experience deliciosuly fresh.
To match with game ideally, drinking from 2010 till 2020, preferably with
decanting.

The estate’s 2004 Brunello di Montalcino is off the charts, especially
considering it is the debut vintage for this wine. Campalto’s Brunello
combines elements of richness and sheer density of fruit within the framework
of a classically structured wine. Plums, cherries, wild herbs, menthol and
minerals are woven together in an intricate fabric of rare pedigree and
complexity. The finish is exceptionally pure, elegant and refined. Simply put,
this seductive and powerful Brunello is a gem that readers won’t want to
miss. It is every bit as remarkable as my comments suggest.

From certified organic and biodynamic vineyards, this is a finely-wrought
Brunello made from pure Sangiovese Grosso, a red whose inviting red fruits and
smoky coffee aromas lead you seamlessly into a palette of flavours emphasising
the sour cherry notes of the grape variety and a seductively silk-smooth
texture; it slips down deceptively easily, all the while retaining the
freshness and vigour that will ensure another five to seven years of
improvement in the bottle.
