2007 Tocai Friulano, Filip, Colli Orientali del Friuli, Miani
|
|
Compared to the more floral, flightier 'Buri', 'Filip' is clearly denser, more
earnest and richer; thanks no doubt to the older vines (60 yo+). Consequently
the nose is fatter with hints of marzipan, of mandarin, while the palate's
spherical, a compact Clementine-rich wine, complete with pith, framed by
fabulous acidity..all sublimely integrated. Great for 10 years till 2017 but
drinking now along with lobster or its like.
