2005 Ch. Sainte Colombe, Côtes de Castillon
(code: 70928B)
A great example of an appellation punching above its weight, from a truly great
vintage.2005 yielded grapes of perfect ripeness so there was wonderful
consistency amongst the wines of the region across all price points. This wine
exhibits juicy, lush, plummy characteristics, backed by fine-grained tannins,
and has surprising complexity on the finish. Try it with grilled lamb or light
game dishes.
(Alun Griffiths MW, BBR Wine Director)
Soft bramble fruit scent bursts out from the glass on this expressive wine. On the palate, the wine shows rounded plum fruit flavours held together by supple tannins. It delivers a surprising level of complexity with an earthy finish.
