The most fashionable vineyards in Spain are located on steep Catalan terraces
of Priorat, just inland from Taragonna and Barcelona. The Terraces is made from
65% Cariñena and 35% Garnacha; it is. From start to finish it is an
unbridled hedonistic experience, with black berries and black cherries to the
fore, then hints of aniseed and spice….. a wonderful but complete
mouth-feel and a deeply satisfying texture.

Alvaro Palacios’ baby, the Terraces, is a consistently impressive and
moderately priced Priorato. It has a little touch of red liquorice and leafy,
even slightly lifted tobacco nose. On the palate it is deliciously crisp with
real bite through fine-grained, ripe tannins and a bold, fruity finish.
