2003 Brunello di Montalcino, Lisini
(code: 71023B)
In light of the hot vintage conditions, it's of little surprise that Lisini's
Brunello should be so ripe & inviting even at such a young age. Filippo
Paoletti has cleverly managed to capture the warmth of the growing season
without compromising the fine balance of the wine; an impressive result. Paler
in colour, the nose seduces the senses with sweet red berries and herbal fruit.
On the palate the wine is palpably more forward and drinkable at this stage than in previous years, with a distinctly suave, redcurranty mouthfeel, while retaining that Lisini hallmark of refinement and complexity. One to savour now till 2015, along with game of the four-legged variety preferably.
