Like many of his colleagues, Jean-Claude Bessin noted that 2007 is a "vintage
where the aromas come out so strongly that it's really perfumed". In Chablis
Fourchaume, Piece au Comte the wood is much more subtle and consequently the
nose has more overall aromatic depth as well as there is a lovely mix of sea
breeze, iodine and ripe green fruit that complements the minerally, detailed
and superbly intense flavors that possess impressive vibrancy and the best
length of any wine to this point. Very promising.
