Viognier is a difficult grape to manage at harvest – pick too early and
the wine can be surprisingly vegetal, too late and it will quickly become
flabby. Stéphane Ogier's Vin de Pays is one of the finest examples of
its kind. These grapes were clearly picked at the perfect moment; the fruit is
soft but eloquent, gently persuasive and charming.
